3.3.10. Battery charging interface

WISMO2C module has on board two different battery charging

circuitry. One is to proceed fast charge for NiMH or NiCd batteries and

the other to proceed fast charge for Li-ion batteries. These two circuitry

uses the same interface which consists of a current source inputs

(CHG_IN) where the constant current has to flow to charge the battery.

This current value depends on the battery capacity. It is recommended

to provide a current equal to the value of the capacity plus 50mA. For a

550mAh battery the current will be 600mA. The maximum current is

800mA.

The WISMO2C module monitors the battery voltage to detect the

end of the charge. WISMO2C monitors also the battery temperature

through the BAT_TEMP pin which has to be connected to a

temperature sensor inside the battery (NTC resistor for example).
